ISKCON Temple

ISKCON Temple is located at Hare Krishna Hill, Sant Nagar, East of Kailash, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions of New Delhi. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his consort Radha, ISKCON temple is a place of worship of Lord Krishna. The temple celebrates many festivals on a grand scale like Sri Krishna Janmashtami,  Radhastami, Jagannath Rath Yatra, Ramanavami,  Gaura Purnima,and Nauka Vihar ( Boat Festival). The temple conducts Some of the main activities like Harinam Sankirtan, Program for Prison Inmates, Food for Life, Youth Training Programs,  Seminars for Corporates, etc.
 
ISKCON Temple, is built by Achyut Kanvinde who accept a pro-bono commission to build the temple complex for the followers of Srila Prabhupada,which is one of the largest temple complexes in India. It consist of numerous rooms for priests and for service renders. It also have many halls that are used for its administration purposes and various seminars.

The temple complex houses:
  • Vedic Museum
  • Govinda’s Vegetarian Restaurant (Serves : Lunch- 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. & Dinner- 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.)
  • Bhaktivedanta Library (approx: 2000 books)
Few relevant information for visitors which can make their trip hassle-free:
  • The temple is open every day from 4:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The closest metro station to the temple is The Nehru Place station (on the violet line).
  • The temple is situated 12 km from the New Delhi railway station and 5 km away from the Nizamuddin railway station.
  • IGI airport is located at a distance of 20 km from the ISKCON temple.
