Entitled Raushan Chiragh-i-Dihli, which means the 'Illuminated lamp of Delhi', he died in the year 1356. He was a disciple of Hazrat Nizam-ud-Din and also succeeded him to become the head of the Chishti sect. Nasir-ud-Din Mahmud was a poet as well as a mystic.
Initially, the main tomb is enclosed within rectangular walls, built of rubble. It was constructed by Muhammad Bin Tughlaq. He Later added a small gateway on both sides of the tomb. The chamber is supported by 12 pillars. Each corner of the dome has Turrets. This dome resembles the tomb of Mubarak Shah. Like Mubarak shah's tomb, this tomb is plastered and rises from an octagonal drum.Apart from this there are several structures inside the complex of the Chirag-i-Dihli's Dargah which were added at different points of time. It includes an assembly hall (Majlis Khana), a symposium hall (Mahfil Khana) and several mosques. One of these mosques was built by Emperor Farrukhsiyar in the early eighteenth century to offer his respect to Nasir ud din Mahmud.
