Restaurant Review: Crostini (Italian and Mediterranean cuisine). Amidst the modish designer stores and showy restaurants of New Delhi's Hauz Khas Village, lies Crostini, an unpretentious little cafe inviting you to its fresh bakes and healthy brews. About 50 feet ahead of the Yodakin bookstore, Crostini is more than just a welcome space with an idyllic ambiance to read or work, and well, grab a delicious bite too. We started off with the cafe's trademark dish - a Crostini made of wheat bread, smeared with a layer of pesto and fresh tomato slices with cubes of mozzarella on top and paired it with one of the fruit smoothies from the menu. We ordered a Berry Blast, a delicious blend of blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, banana and yogurt, and a Peanut Butter smoothie that brings the goodness of apple, banana, and skim milk along with a dash of whey protein.

Next up was the Wholesome Brown Rice Salad - a delightful arrangement of brown rice, mixed beans, roasted bell peppers, green peas, mixed leaves, carrots, broccoli, cranberries and mango chutney that lent a mix of sweet-tangy flavour. The flavoursome, crunchy salad is an ideal light-lunch option for those who're on diet. Accompanying the salad was the Tuscan Chicken Pasta - a simple preparation of chunky chicken in Arabbiata sauce served with toasted garlic bread. Besides these, there is a huge choice among sandwiches, wraps, cakes and other hot/cold beverages. Drop by at Crostini for lunch, dinner or a quick bite. Just be sure to take your pick from the expansive menu, for you'll be spoilt for choice!
