Delhi is an excellent base for visiting Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders. Being commercial and cultural heart of India, Delhi gets thousands and thousands of visitors every year.

It is not certain from where the name Delhi has been derived. Stories are there that Delhi has been derived from the Mauryan king, Maharaja Dhillu. Some historians also believes that the name Delhi has been arrived from the word Dilli, originated from the Persian word for Dahleez, meaning frontier or threshold. One more story exists. It suggest that the original name of Delhi was Dhilika, the persianized surname Dahelvi that is related to residents of Delhi.

For tourists Delhi houses some of the best hotels in the country, which provides high-end services to every visitor throughout the year. One can reach Delhi by air and land transport. The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi Airport and the main railway station is New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS). It holds the largest route interlock system in the world. Connaught Place, the heart of the city, is just 2kms away from the New Delhi Railway Station.
