With the examination results scheduled to be declared soon, Delhi University has come out with a mechanism for redressing grievances related to discrepancies in results, senior university officials said on Monday. Such discrepancies have been divided into four categories: Results not being available, results being declared late, students being marked absent despite sitting for the exam and, the subject mentioned is incorrect. Students are to submit their application within ten days of declaration of results at specified counters in South and North Campus, a statement from the University Registrar said. Deputy Dean of the University Information Centre, Satish Kumar, who will also be the coordinator for this purpose, said: “Earlier, students did not know where to go if there was some problem with the results. There was no mechanism to deal with the hue and cry which follows the declaration of results.”

The notification in this regard has been put up on the DU website. “Also, posters informing the students about this facility will be put up in colleges and at various places in the university,” Satish Kumar said. To streamline the examination and evaluation process, the university had earlier come out with an evaluation schedule for teachers. Umesh Rai, Director, South Campus, said almost 90 per cent of the evaluation process is complete. “While examination results of some courses are likely to come out within a day or two, we expect all results to be declared by the end of this month. It is because of the support of teachers that we have been able to complete the evaluation in time,” Rai said.
