Protect Yourself from Dengue Fever

It’s the time when the very specific or dangerous fever is spreading again. So it’s better to take prevention as better then cure. Dengue fever is an infectious disease carried by mosquitoes. It is found mostly during and shortly after the rainy season. Dengue fever is an acute viral infection characterized by extreme fever, headaches, joint and muscle pain, nausea, vomiting and a rash. Most cases of dengue fever are relatively mild, but some can progress to dengue hemorrhagic fever, which is fatal in about 5 percent of cases. People with dengue fever should not take aspirin or medications that contain aspirin because it increases the risk for severe bleeding.

Tips to cure Dengue:

• The only treatment for dengue fever is resting and drinking plenty of fluids. Fluid replenishment is essential to prevent dehydration, which can be caused by vomiting.
• Seek immediate medical attention if dengue fever progresses into dengue hemorrhagic fever. Hemorrhagic fever is characterized by bleeding from the nose, mouth and gums due to leaking blood vessels.
• Stay away from mosquitoes when infected with dengue fever. The disease is transmitted by mosquitoes, which carry the disease after biting an infected person, and so may transfer it to someone else after biting you.

Some Home Remedies are:
• Consumption of fresh extract of papaya leaves.
• Consumption of diluted orange juice helps in indigestion and strengthens the immune system.
• Application of neem tonic on body made with tender neem leaves works well to fight the situation.
• Consumption of basil leaves decoction helps curing the fever and weakness
