LG Optimus G Pro with 5-inch screen goes official

The hardware specifications of LG Optimus G Pro, the successor to the successful Optimus G, have been made official. Japan's leading telecom carrier NTT Docomo has said this smartphone will be its flagship device for 2013 and unveiled its features in a spec sheet. This device will be available from April this year with the operator, while LG is widely expected to announce the phone at Mobile World Congress in February this year. The all-new Optimus G Pro features a 5-inch screen that can play full HD videos (shot at 1080p resolution) with ease. The phone runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a quad-core processor which boasts of clock speed of 1.7GHz. With 2GB RAM at its disposal, LG's new flagship phone has 32GB in-built memory, along with microSD card support.

For imaging, LG has included an 8MP camera with LED flash on the back, while the front panel has a camera with 2.4MP resolution. Connectivity features of Optimus G Pro include NFC, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, 3G and 2G. This smartphone will be powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The new device takes over from Optimus G as the company's top-of-the-line smartphone. Optimus G recently clocked sales of one million units and is the inspiration for the hit phone Google Nexus 4.
