As long as we remember we have been celebrating Christmas without know much about it, so here are some real and fun facts about Christmas that you might did not know.


In Greek, X means Christ; that is where the word “Xmas” comes from!

The world’s largest Christmas present was the Statue of Liberty. The French gave it to the US in 1886. It is 46.5 meters high and weights 225 tons!

“Green” Christmas:- It can take up to 15 years to grow an average-sized tree of 6-7 feet or as little as 4 years, but the average growing time is 7!

Father Christmas has two addresses, Edinburgh and the North Pole. Letters addressed to 'TOYLAND' or 'SNOWLAND' go to Edinburgh, but letters addressed to 'THE NORTH POLE' have to be sent there because there really is such a place!

Coca Cola was the first beverage company to use Santa for a winter promotion.



More diamonds are sold around Christmas than any other time of the year

Father Christmas' reindeers are called Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner/Donder, Blitzen, and Rudolph. Eight of these names are taken from Clement C. Moore's "A Visit From St. Nicholas," and the ninth from the song "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"

According to an old wives’ tale if you bake bread on the Christmas Eve then it will be fresh forever.


Krampus will punish you! He is a demon-like creature in Germany and Austria who accompanies St. Nicholas during the Christmas season to punish bad children.

 “Jingle Bells” was originally written for a Thanksgiving celebration, in 1857.
