Established in 1889, as a steel trader in Delhi, the Company shifted its focus towards plumbing products after India’s Independence. The “GMGR” brand name is recognized all over the country, particularly in North India as the major concentration area.
In 1971, GMGR established Bathroom Sanitary Fittings Manufacturing with brand name Gem, known all over the country and internationally for quality products.
The Company is credited for introducing many innovative products as being the first to introduce Single Lever Mixers in India in Technical Collaboration with Friedrich Grohe (now Grohe) from Germany.
It was the first to launch the Flush Valves (Hydro), Self closing taps etc. The Company also introduced Viega products from Germany in 2006.
In 1989, on the centenary celebration the Company opened the first one stop super shop for bathroom fittings in India with 4 floors dedicated to display. Since then the total business of Sanitary and plumbing products shifted from shop to showrooms.
The company in its long journey has worked with numerous brands which dominated the markets in different decades. In nut shell the company has been prime support to lot of leading brands. With the changing time the company expanded its focus from plumbing to other building products.
The GMGR Group of Companies - Goojar Mal Ganpat Rai Pvt. Ltd. introduced DuPont Corian solid surface material in North India as sole distributors since 1998. The company successfully introduced this product by educating and creating awareness into the various segments of the building industry like Hospitality, Commercial Spaces, Healthcare, Residential Spaces and Institutions.
Year 2010 – looking at the Market Scenario and the ever changing market demand – GMGR introduced Silestone – World’s Best Quality Quartz Surfaces from Cosentino – Spain, to the Indian market. Cosentino’s Eco Surfaces are Leed Certified Green Building Material which is composed of 75% recycled material.
The Same year saw the introduction of Samsung Staron Solid Surfaces, which gave consumer far more options in the Solid Surfaces. Staron’s Encore Series is the Recycled Content Series which caters to the demand for Green Building Material. "Tempest" – by Staron is the most Exclusive series in Solid Surfaces – which features highly translucent particulate within the material creating a surface that has visual depth and is less opaque.
