The first World Education Summit (WES) 2011, the world's premier platform for education thought leadership, is being produced by digitalLEARNING (www.digitalLEARNING.in) and jointly organised by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS), and Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd. on 13-15 July 2011 at The Ashoka, New Delhi, India

Shri Kapil Sibal, the Hon'ble Minister for Human Resource Development, Government of India will inaugurate the Summit on 14th July 2011. Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Former President of India and Prof Yashpal, Former Chairman, UGC will also grace the Summit by their presence.

: Recognizing Global Innovation and Excellence in Education
Inviting Nominations from Innovative Educational Projects
The World Education Awards have been instituted with the aim of felicitating and acknowledging unique and innovative initiatives in the field of education globally.
Nominations are invited from schools, higher education institutions, vocational training institutions, government organizations, non-governmental organizations, private institutions and enterprises across the globe engaged in the field of education.

Award Categories available under:

  • Higher Education
  • Vocational and Skills Education
  • Government Initiatives
  • Private Initiatives

Awards will be given under two sections:

World Education Public Choice Award

  • Nominated projects will be screened and uploaded on the website for the public to vote. Projects receiving the maximum number of votes under each category will receive the World Education Public Choice Award.

World Education Jury Choice Award

  • Nominations will be screened by an eminent panel of jury members, who will then choose the best project from each category. The selected project will receive the World Education Jury Choice Award.

  • School Education Track brings together Principals and leading functionaries of schools from across the globe for discussion on education models, pedagogy and andragogy in improving teaching learning practices in classrooms
