Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi is the first of the grand dynastic mausoleums that were to become synonyms of Mughal architecture with the architectural style.Humayun’s Tomb was built in the 1560’s, with the patronage of Humayun’s son, the great Emperor Akbar. Construction:
Akbar visited the tomb in 1571, when it was about to be completed. The tomb of Humayun was built to the initiative of his widow Hamida Banu Begum for her deceased husband in 1565. Construction began in 1565 and it was completed in 1572 as it cost 1.5 million rupees, paid entirely by the Empress.

Structure and shape:
