The Sai Baba temple is situated at the posh locality of Lodhi Road near Jawaharlal Lal Nehru Stadium. It attracts millions of tourists across the country to the place irrespective of the religious beliefs cast and creed.
Introduction: It is one of the beautiful holy place located near Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium and is exactly in front of the Dayal Singh college, on Lodhi road you can view a beautiful white temple dedicated to sai baba. Sai baba mandir, devoted to Sai Baba of Shirdi. The temple is stuff with devotees on Thursday evenings for the special puja. You can see the idol of Sai Baba from the road. It is built with white marble.The organization of the temple comes under Shri Sai Bhakt Samaj (Regd. 1968). There is also a small market where many flower vendors are there, where devotees of sai baba offer red rose instead of Prasad. Many worshipers from all the sections of the society come and take the blessings from Sai baba especially Thursday is considered as Sai baba’s day. On this day special programs are organized like Bhandaras and soothing Aarti also takes place at night.
History: Shirdi Sai Baba devoted his whole life to bringing unity and peace between the Hindu and Muslim religions. He always used to say “Sabka malik ek”. The foundation stone was laid on August 1972, and M/s Pardhan Ghosh & Associates were appointed as the supervisor of the construction. On 30th September 1976 finally, after so many Pujas and Havans, the temple was opened to the public. It was the last residential area built by the British Raj.
